Phuket Town has come long before the tourism to prosperity. The development of Phuket started with tin mining of the busy local Chinese community. Later, the trade rise up.

The Portuguese style architecture can be seen on some old classic buildings. Another source of income is the cashew cultivation and processing. Phuket Town has some nice shopping areas. Here are the prices are usually slightly lower than on the beaches. Rang Hill is a beautiful view point in the middle of the city.

Rang Hill ist ein schöner Aussichtspunkt mitten in Phuket Stadt. Von den 3 Restaurants ist das Tung Ka Cafe / Restaurant zu empfehlen. Unterhalb der Bergspitze liegt der Trimm Dich Pfad, der von Thais gerne genutzt wird.

Durch den Klong im Norden vom Zentrum läuft man oft an der Hauptverkehrsstraße dort hin. Hier ist eine kleine Abkürzung über eine kleine Brücke beschrieben.
